Introducing Conrad

Conrad moved to Aberdeen in 2008 after studying engineering at Imperial College London. He wants to put the recovery first, prioritising improvements to the local services that will enhance people’s everyday lives.
Engineering a green recovery
As a chartered Chemical Engineer, Conrad is passionate that science and engineering are key to combating the climate crisis. With over a decade of experience in the North Sea’s Oil and Gas industry, a major employer in North East, he knows that more support is required to ensure that the expertise of the region’s highly skilled workforce is fully utilised in designing and building the green energy solutions of the future.
Supporting our NHS
Conrad knows first-hand the value of the NHS, having been assaulted shortly after moving to Aberdeen. Where NHS Grampian once treated his fractured cheekbone and eye socket, now he campaigns for NHS Grampian to receive fair funding from the Scottish government.
Metal health and education
Having himself suffered from anxiety and depression, Conrad is passionate that Scotland’s mental healthcare system needs to improve. As the son of a school teacher, the brother of vocationally trained paramedic, and a graduate of one of the world’s leading science and engineering universities, Conrad knows that one size does not fit all. He is deeply concerned by the decline of Scotland’s education system.
Fun facts
Conrad loves outdoor pursuits, whether that be playing football, running, cycling or hiking in the Cairngorms. On rainy days he likes to play boardgames, of which he has a collection of over 50.
