A confused Finance Minister today announced that the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route would be ‘within the year’ - despite the Economy Minister reporting, only 24 hours before, that it would not open until 2018.
North East MSP Mike Rumbles has now called on the Scottish Government to clarify the completion date for the project, branding the Ministers ‘muddled’.
Mr Rumbles said: “Perhaps the Finance Minister should speak to his colleague the Economy Minister, who reported to the rural affairs committee only yesterday that the AWPR would not be open until 2018.
“Confusion can now be added to the list of failures of this incompetent government. The Minister must now clarify when this vital infrastructure project will actually open to the public.”
