North East MSP Mike Rumbles has, today, written to the Scottish Government’s Transport Minister calling for access to Insch Railway Station to be improved for passengers with low mobility.
Mr Rumbles said: “Local commuters have been crying out for better disabled access to both north and southbound platforms.
“Progress on the promised improvements to the Huntly to Aberdeen service has been glacial. But when the Scottish Government finally gets work underway, improving access at smaller and older stations will be too important to overlook.
“It has been too easy for the Scottish Government to ignore our local public transport needs in Aberdeenshire and the North East. It’s time they took a serious look at modernising our local infrastructure to ensure it is fit-for-purpose in the years to come.”
