Rumbles welcomes Lottery funding for Marnoch Scout Troop

Mike Rumbles, Regional MSP for the North East has welcomed a grant of £1,000 from the Big Lottery Fund to the Marnoch Scout Troop in Aberchirder. The money will come from the “Awards for All” fund, the National Lottery’s small grants scheme for projects that aim to help improve local communities.

The group will use the funds to establish a new Scout troop to accommodate more children who are moving up from the Cub age range.

Mr Rumbles said: “I am glad that Marnoch Troop have secured funds to expand and take on even more children, the demand for places in the Scouts is enormous and I welcome the opportunity for more of our young people to take part. Scouting teaches important skills and is great fun for all involved.”
