Commenting on figures reveled today, by Scottish Labour, that show ScotRail failed to meet punctuality targets for the whole of 2017/18, Scottish Liberal Democrat transport spokesperson Mike Rumbles said:
“These figures are evidence that the Scottish Government’s spin on Scotrail performance is not worth the paper it is printed on.
“There are two things that most passengers want to see from our public transport network, reliability and value for money. With delayed trains, skipped stops and overcrowding continuing to affect thousands of journeys the Scottish Government has failed ot deliver on either front.
“This week, a national rail passenger survey carried out by the independent watchdog Transport Focus showed that one in six customers are still not happy with Scotrail’s performance. That is simply not good enough. The Transport Minister must come clean and start doing more to aid Scotrail and Abeillo meet those goals and hold them to account if they fail.”
